Homes are awash
With festive posh nosh
We're all binging
Merrily swigging
Oh! how we'll groan
If we put on a stone
The old scales were great
Accurate and considerate
But today they quiver and quake
Ping! Ping! they break!
I went to the sales
To buy a new set
BUT BY HECK!
I read twice to check
They read - a TON!!! FECK!!!
And I do so baulk
At a celery stalk
