Sunday Circular

Lasting images
Cotswold villages
Time has mellowed
The grey and yellow

At Lower Slaughter
The water thunders
in the River Eye
But the wheel lies idle

Up the hill
Opposite the mill
Old Saxon Track
Time turns back

A skylark symphony
The only company
My heart calms
In this land's arms

A sun kissed breeze
Rustles through trees
Woodpecker hammers
Creating clamour

The gun calls
A pheasant falls
Osprey glide
Partridge hide

Horse and rider
Enjoyed a canter
Imprints of horseshoe
A muddy clue

Leave the bridle way
Down shady glade,
A peal of bells
From church, wells

Bewitching is Windrush
With it's endless gush
As a visitor, Ienjoyed the saunter
In Bourton-on-the-Water
