Profound Thoughts

So it began - Life
How odd - I'd not considered being naught
Thoughts turn to my nature - how it was wrought
Like a tiny universe - DNA started to form
Alive - unborn
Carried - in the womb so warm
Thoughts, mannerisms - transferring
Skilfully, naturally - cells melding
Donated to me - given by generations of family

Spiralling - down, down towards a new dawn
Whoosh!  Whoosh! - through throbbing muscles
Painful - this freedom fight, this tussle
Now I'm an offspring - I've emerged into the light
Alive - born
Senses collide - touch...smell, noise, taste and sight
Consciousness - twinkling like starlight
A bundle of family genes - nothing can intervene
A life to live - given to me by family, it's my birthright.
